Connect Forminator to MailerLite

Connect Forminator to MailerLite

Connect Forminator to MailerLite and every form submission becomes a subscriber in the group you choose. The free ClickSyncr for MailerLite plugin registers a native Forminator application: connect it once, activate it on any form, map your fields, publish. No code and about two minutes per form.

Before you begin

You need three things: the ClickSyncr for MailerLite plugin activated, the free Forminator plugin active, and a MailerLite account (the free tier is fine, with permission to create an API token). You connect once for the whole site.

Get your MailerLite API key

  1. Log in to MailerLite and go to Integrations → API (dashboard.mailerlite.com/integrations/api).
  2. Generate a new token and give it a recognisable name such as WordPress ClickSyncr.
  3. Copy it immediately: MailerLite shows the full token only once. If you lose it, generate another.

Treat the token like a password. Anyone holding it can read and modify your MailerLite subscribers.

Forminator setup, step by step

  1. Connect MailerLite (ClickSyncr) globally. Go to Forminator → Integrations, find MailerLite (ClickSyncr) and connect it with your API key. Once connected it appears under Connected Apps.
The Forminator Integrations hub with MailerLite (ClickSyncr) under Connected Apps.

  2. Activate it on your form. Additionally, open your form in the wizard and switch to the Integrations tab. Activate MailerLite (ClickSyncr), then walk through the short setup: pick the group, set the email field, and map the rest.
The form's Integrations tab with MailerLite (ClickSyncr) active.

  3. Publish the changes. Moreover, click Publish Changes so the activation is live. Submissions now sync to the group you picked.

The nine MailerLite fields

Every builder maps the same nine standard MailerLite fields, and any custom fields in your account appear in the list automatically. Only Email is mandatory; an unmapped field is simply skipped and never overwrites existing subscriber data with a blank value. If MailerLite rejects one value’s type, that single field is dropped and the subscriber still syncs.

Field MailerLite key Notes
Email email Required. The subscriber identifier.
Name name First name.
Last name last_name
Phone phone
Company company
City city
Country country
State state
Zip z_i_p MailerLite’s key really is z_i_p.

Verify the sync

First, submit the form on the front end (not the admin preview) with a test address you can recognise, filling every mapped field. Then, in MailerLite, open Subscribers and confirm the subscriber exists, sits in the group you selected, and carries the mapped values. In short, that one minute catches almost every configuration mistake.

Troubleshooting

Symptom Cause and fix
The group dropdown is empty The key is missing or mistyped, or you revoked it in MailerLite. Re-paste it and reconnect. A key with a trailing space is the classic culprit.
Submissions do not appear in MailerLite Nine times out of ten the Email field is not mapped. It is the one required mapping. Fix it, then submit a fresh test.
A new MailerLite group is not listed The group list is cached for a few minutes. Use the refresh control.
The integration is connected but nothing syncs The global connection alone is not enough: activate the integration on the form itself, then Publish Changes.
The subscriber syncs but a field is empty Either that field is unmapped, or it was blank on the submission. ClickSyncr skips empty values, so they never wipe existing MailerLite data.

Does this work with the free Forminator?

Yes. The MailerLite (ClickSyncr) application registers in the free Forminator plugin from WPMU DEV; no pro tier is required.

Can I apply the integration to only some forms?

Yes. Forminator applies integrations per form, so only the forms you activate it on will sync, each with its own group and mapping.
