Best Typeform Alternatives for WordPress (2026)

What you actually lose when you leave Typeform

Typeform is a hosted product built by a company in Barcelona, founded in 2012. So it runs on their infrastructure, not yours. When someone fills in a Typeform embedded on your WordPress site, the answers travel from the visitor’s browser to Typeform’s servers. WordPress never sees them.

That means a real difference, and it cuts both ways.

You lose: their conversational interface, which is genuinely good and hard to match; their analytics; their template library; and the fact that none of it is your problem to maintain.

You gain: the submissions in your own database, no per-response pricing, no third-party script on the page, and the ability to do WordPress things with the data such as creating posts, triggering plugins or gating content.

If you are moving because of price or data ownership, read on. If you are moving because you want the interface, be honest that the WordPress options are close rather than identical.

The plugins that do conversational forms

Plugin Active installs Rating One question at a time
WPForms Lite 5,000,000 96/100 yes, multi-step
Fluent Forms 700,000 96/100 yes, conversational
Formidable Forms 300,000 96/100 yes, and it names Typeform
Everest Forms 90,000 98/100 yes
WS Form 10,000 100/100 yes
Quill Forms 3,000 96/100 yes, built for this

Quill Forms is the closest in feel

Built specifically as a conversational form builder rather than a general form plugin with a conversational mode bolted on. But it is also the smallest here at 3,000 installs, which is the trade: closest match, smallest community, fewest people to ask when something breaks.

WS Form has a perfect rating and almost nobody uses it

100 out of 100, from a small number of ratings, at 10,000 installs. Still worth looking at. Treat the score as “nobody who chose it regretted it” rather than “better than WPForms”.

Formidable names Typeform in its own readme

Which tells you they see the same search demand you do. It is the strongest all-rounder on the list if you also need calculations, views or a front-end application.

Gravity Forms is not on this list, and here is why

It is not distributed through WordPress.org, so there is no public install count or rating to compare it against everything else. It is commercial only. Plenty of agencies build on it and it does conversational forms well. You just cannot benchmark it on the same numbers, so putting it in the table would be inventing a comparison.

Where ClickSyncr fits, honestly

Nowhere in this decision. ClickSyncr connects WordPress forms to email platforms; it does not build forms. If you move off Typeform you will still need to send those submissions to Mailchimp, Brevo, Klaviyo or wherever, and that is the point at which we are useful. So choosing the form plugin comes first.

Questions people actually ask

Can I get the exact Typeform feel in WordPress? Close, not identical. Quill Forms and Fluent Forms are the nearest.

Where does the data live? In your WordPress database, which is the main reason people make this move.

Will I lose my existing Typeform responses? Yes, unless you export them first. Do that before you cancel.

Is there a free option? Quill Forms, WPForms Lite and Fluent Forms all have free versions that cover a basic conversational form.

Already built the forms you want?

ClickSyncr connects the forms you already have to the email platform you already pay for, without rebuilding either.
