The submission limit is usually why people leave

Jotform is a bootstrapped company founded in 2006, profitable for eighteen years, with more than 35 million users. It is a serious product, and the free tier is generous by SaaS standards.

But it is also metered. Submissions per month, storage, uploads. A WordPress form plugin has no such ceiling, because the submissions land in your own database on your own hosting. So for a site taking a few hundred enquiries a month, that difference is the entire argument.

What Jotform genuinely does better

Worth saying plainly, because a comparison page that only lists wins is not useful.

First, its form builder is better than most WordPress equivalents. Its template library is enormous too. HIPAA compliance, PDF generation and approval workflows are real products, not checkboxes. And it ships its own WordPress plugins: embed-form has 20,000 installs, plus an AI chatbot and a feedback button.

So “moving to WordPress” often means embedding Jotform in WordPress, which keeps the metering and the data location exactly as they were. So if that is what you want, use their plugin and stop reading.

If you want the shortest answer: WPForms if you liked Jotform’s builder, Forminator if you want the most for free, Formidable if your forms do arithmetic.

The two things that will bite you in the migration

File uploads become your problem. Jotform stores them, so you never think about it. But on WordPress they land in your uploads directory, count against your hosting, and need a backup strategy. This is the migration detail people forget.

Spam becomes your problem too. Jotform filters it centrally. On WordPress, instead, you add a honeypot, a captcha or Akismet, and tune it yourself.

Neither is hard, though. Both are work that used to be included.

Where ClickSyncr fits

After the decision, not during it. So once your forms are in WordPress, the submissions still have to reach Mailchimp, Brevo, Klaviyo or your CRM. That is what we do. In short, picking the form plugin comes first.

Questions people actually ask

Is there a free WordPress equivalent? Several. Forminator and WPForms Lite are the two to start with.

Can I import my Jotform forms? Not directly. You rebuild them. Export your existing submissions before you cancel.

What happens to my uploaded files? They stay with Jotform unless you download them. Do that first.

Already built the forms you want?

ClickSyncr connects the forms you already have to the email platform you already pay for, without rebuilding either.
